2020 Nissan Altima vs. 2020 Subaru Legacy

Both the 2020 Nissan Altima and 2020 Subaru Legacy are mid-sized sedans currently in their sixth and seventh-generation respectively. Since both have undergone significant redesigning, we compare both these sedans on different parameters to see who comes out on top in this faceoff.

Exterior Styling

Right off the bat, if we compare the exterior visuals, the 2020 Nissan Altima comes across as way better looking than the 2020 Subaru Legacy. The Nissan Altima has been styled attractively with a longer wider body and includes sharp lines across its sides. It instantly makes a bold statement, and 19-inch wheels give it a sporty feel.

On the other hand, the 2020 Subaru Legacy falls short on impressing us with its build and look. When compared with the Nissan Altima, the Subaru Legacy seems dull and drably styled. The front styling looks out of place, and a small lip spoiler takes away significantly from the athletic appeal of this sedan.

Performance

The 2020 Nissan Altima engine gives you a more power-packed performance than the 2020 Subaru Legacy. The Nissan Altima delivers a horsepower of 182 HP and a torque of 178 lb-ft, while the Subaru Legacy makes a horsepower of 182 HP and torque of 176 lb-ft. Moreover, the Nissan Altima can go from 0 to 60 MPH in a mere 7.4 seconds, which is 0.6 seconds quicker than the time it takes the Subaru Legacy to do the same.

The 2020 Nissan Altima also wins hands down when it comes fuel efficiency. It provides a fuel economy of 28 MPG on city roads and 39 MPG on highways. The 2020 Subaru Legacy, however, will cost you more on gas as it provides a fuel economy of 25 MPG city-wide and 34 MPG on highways.

The 2020 Nissan Altima is also a more comfortable ride with its smooth handling and firmer suspension system. The Subaru Legacy feels less comfortable and its handling less receptive, especially on curves and road bumps.

Interiors

The 2020 Nissan Altima has a more sophisticated cabin than the 2020 Subaru Legacy. The latter has a cluttered dashboard, which can make it distracting and a hassle to the driver.
